Season 16 is off to a wonderful start, and we have so much to celebrate!
It’s hard to believe we’ve already completed our first five weeks of dance at Soul 2 Sole Dance Studio! From welcoming familiar faces back into our classrooms to meeting brand-new dancers, these first few weeks have been filled with excitement, learning, friendships, and plenty of smiles!
This season, our Word of the Year is BELONGING, and we’ve been working hard to make sure every dancer who walks through our doors feels welcomed, encouraged, and part of something special.
As we wrap up our first round of lesson plans, we’re excited to share what our dancers have been working on and what’s coming next!
Growing One Step at a Time: Our First Progress Charts!

One of our biggest focuses at Soul 2 Sole is making sure our dancers aren’t just learning choreography, but truly developing the skills, technique, confidence, and understanding behind each style of dance.
Over the past five weeks, our teachers have been introducing and reinforcing foundational skills through structured lesson plans, creative exercises, and plenty of hands-on learning.
Now it’s time to celebrate that progress!
Our dancers are completing their first round of Progress Charts, which help us recognize where each student is in their individual dance journey.
We use four fun stages of growth:
- Planted: We’ve introduced the skill and started learning!
- Sprouted: We’re beginning to understand and practice the skill.
- Growing: We’re gaining confidence and becoming more consistent.
- Blossomed: We’re demonstrating the skill with confidence and independence!
These charts aren’t about comparing dancers or earning a perfect score. They’re about recognizing effort, celebrating growth, and helping each student understand what they’re learning and what comes next.
We’ve also introduced some creative partner challenges, games, and small-group activities to make progress check-ins feel less like a test and more like another exciting day in dance class!
Our goal is for every dancer to feel proud of how far they’ve come, while also feeling motivated for what’s ahead.
Fresh Lesson Plans, New Skills & More Fun!

With our first lesson plan coming to a close, our teachers are preparing to introduce the next round of skills and activities!
Each lesson plan is thoughtfully designed to build on what our dancers have already learned while introducing new challenges that are appropriate for their age and experience level.
From our Tiny Treasures and preschool dancers exploring movement, rhythm, coordination, and creativity to our older dancers working on technique, musicality, flexibility, performance quality, and more, there’s always something new happening in our classrooms!
We also believe that learning should be FUN!
You’ll continue to see our teachers incorporating interactive games, teamwork, creative movement, and skill-building challenges that encourage dancers to think, explore, and grow.
And of course, we’re beginning to bring some exciting winter performance concepts into our classrooms as we prepare for our upcoming Soul 2 Sole Express Winter Performance!
We can’t wait to see how much our dancers continue to grow over the next several weeks.
All Aboard for Bring Your Bestie Week!

October 12–17, 2026
One of our favorite ways to share the joy of dance is by inviting new friends into our classrooms, and we’re SO excited for our upcoming Bring Your Bestie Week!
Throughout the week, our current dancers have the opportunity to invite a friend to join them in class and experience a little bit of what makes Soul 2 Sole so special!
We’ve planned fun, welcoming lessons that will allow our dancers and their besties to move, laugh, learn, and make memories together.
Whether their bestie has danced before or is trying dance for the very first time, we can’t wait to welcome them!
A few important reminders for participating families:
- All besties MUST register in advance.
- A completed liability waiver is required before participating.
- Besties should wear comfortable athletic clothing and clean indoor-only shoes or participate barefoot.
- No previous dance experience is necessary!
Advance registration is required at least 24 hours before the class.
We can’t wait to fill our classrooms with even more smiles, laughter, and new friendships!
More Than Dance Steps: Building a Place to Belong

As we continue through Season 16, one thing remains at the heart of everything we do: creating a place where dancers feel like they belong.
We know that every student learns differently, grows at their own pace, and brings something unique to our dance family.
Some dancers are discovering their confidence for the first time. Others are working toward new technical goals, developing leadership skills, or finding friendships that extend beyond the studio.
And we love being part of every one of those journeys!
We’re incredibly thankful for our families who continue to support their dancers, encourage their growth, and trust our teachers to guide them along the way.
Here’s to five wonderful weeks of dance, many more milestones ahead, and a season filled with learning, friendships, and BELONGING!
We can’t wait to see what the next five weeks bring!
With love,
The Soul 2 Sole Team
Inspiring students to dance from their soul to sole!
